
Zagreb, Croatia – December 16, 2021 – The Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM) and the CroAsia Institute held a mini-conference titled, “Croatia and Asia – Desires, Expectations, Potentials, and Realities in Post-Pandemic Globalism.” on December 15th at ZŠEM. The conference aims to explore the evolving dynamics between Croatia and Asia within the context of global shifts in a post-pandemic world.
The conference featured two main panels:
Panel 1: Global Opportunities
Speakers include:
- Kaji Misako, Ambassador of Japan to Croatia
- Raj Kumar Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Croatia
- Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Special Advisor to the Dean of ZŠEM for International Projects
- Mato Njavro, Dean of ZŠEM
“Wherever you lived in the world, you’re somehow connected to Asia. What happens to the whole world is happening there. China has become a factory of the world; you can not talk about supply chains without China, “
-said dean Mato Njavro in the introductory part of the first panel.
Panel 2: Politics, Foreign Affairs, Security, and Technology
Speakers include:
- Ivica Bakota, Capital Normal University
- Robert Mikac, Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb
- Branimir Vidmarović, University of Pula
- Nikola Pavešić, Startup Director at Infobip
- Damir Firšt, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Matterless Studios
- Zvonimir Stopić, ZŠEM
Open to students and the public, the mini-conference provides a platform for discussing Croatia’s and Asia’s roles and strategies in addressing global challenges in politics, technology, security, and international relations.
